PAPSA’s Wood-Moghal Featured in Health Services Article (April 30, 2018)

PAPSA Execuitve Board member and President-Elect Tammy Wood-Moghal was recently featured in an April 18 article on www.philly.com. The article focuses on the demands faced by school health services staff in the Bensalem School District, where  Wood-Moghal is the Director of Pupil Services.  That school district has seen a significant increase in parents/guardians using school nurses as “gatekeepers” for their children’s health care in efforts to avoid costly insurance co-pays. Compounding matters is an increase in medically fragile students and other health-related issues, including mental health concerns, as well as ensuring compliance with state mandates and mountains of paperwork.
