PDE to Research Students Impacted by Trauma or Distress (March 4, 2021)

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) recently established a research priority to ascertain to what extent Pennsylvania educators are prepared to recognize and respond to students impacted by trauma or distress. To this end, we have received an award from PDE to conduct this research during this upcoming spring of 2021. We are asking your help at this time to increase awareness of this important forthcoming survey.

In light of the above, and appreciating the relevance of this research to pupil services administrators, you can access a special announcement about the forthcoming survey that you are encouraged to share with your membership as you deem appropriate at your earliest convenience https://intranet.bloomu.edu/documents/mcdowell/spring2021.pdf . Our hope is that by increasing awareness in advance of the survey we will best position ourselves to gain the greatest number of responses feasible between the months of April and June of 2021. Specifically, we ask that you consider disseminating this special announcement broadly amongst your contacts encouraging those administrators as well as other educators that have interest to sign up in advance to receive the survey link once it is available by contacting Charlotte Heckman ([email protected]) at the McDowell Institute in the College of Education at Bloomsburg University.
