Mary Pritchard is Honored with the Robert B. Cormany Award (April 16, 2018)

On April 12, 2018, at its annual business meeting, PAPSA honored Mrs. Mary Pritchard, Nazareth Area School District School Psychologist. Mary is the faculty advisor to a student organization called ā€œAevidum.ā€ Aevidum is a student driven initiative with a twofold mission and message: first to create a school culture where everyone feels accepted, appreciated, acknowledged, and cared for; and second to raise awareness of signs of depression, to reduce the stigma associated with talking about it, and to take action to prevent suicide by helping someone access the treatment they need. Aevidum does this through school-wide activities and high-energy workshops where students facilitate ā€œThe Talkā€ and learn how to bring the mission and message to their peers. Under Mary’s leadership, the Aevidum program in Nazareth was begun in Spring 2015. Since then, the Nazareth Aevidum program has grown to almost 80 members. Nazareth students are also an integral part of expanding Aevidumā€™s scope by facilitating multi-district consortia for schools across Pennsylvania. To date, Nazareth Aevidum students have facilitated 16 consortiums for over 1,800 students across the Commonwealth. PAPSA is proud to honor Mary and to recognize her efforts to help students in need.
